-
Individual Therapy
People come to counseling for a variety of reasons. Some are in crisis and want help making sense of the chaos. Others are suffering and want to give language to their pain. Some people come with grief, wanting someone to bear witness to their heartache. Others feel stuck because of trauma. Some show up because they simply want to create space to care for themselves. Whatever your reason may be, individual counseling can offer the help you need to step courageously into your own story. As we look at the interplay between thoughts and feelings and how that affects your body, you can better understand how you think, feel and relate to others.
These sessions are 50 minutes in duration.
-
Couples and Marital Therapy
Relationships can be challenging under the best circumstances. And the ways we learned how to relate to others in our families of origin have a profound impact on how we relate to others in adulthood. The extent that we were seen and understood as children affects our ability to feel seen and understood as adults. That, in turn, impacts how we see and understand others. In couples and marital therapy, we look at how these earliest relationships affect your marriage. Couples learn how to be curious rather than combative. Counseling provides a stable environment to explore emotions together and recreate safety in the relationship.
These sessions are 50-90 minutes in duration.
-
Family Therapy
Because we are hurt in the context of a relationship, we have to heal in the context of a relationship. Research reflects that family therapy has the best outcome of all other therapies. Family therapy can be useful in any family situation where there is stress, grief, anger or conflict. It can help you and your family learn coping skills to bring you closer together. Family therapy involves discussion and problem-solving sessions. Usual goals of family therapy are improving communication, solving family problems, understanding and handling special family situations, and creating a healthier home environment.
These sessions are 90-120 minutes in duration.
-
Story Work Therapy
In the care of a compassionate counselor, you can make sense of your story. You can discover the parts of your narrative that you want to keep and what parts you want to let go. Story Work is a guided process of facilitating healing through engaging individual stories with courage and compassion. The goal of Story Work is to have a deeper understanding of the nature and impact of your story on your personhood. It offers a transformative engagement with your story along with a growing awareness of how it has shaped your identity, style of relating, and belief system.
These sessions are 60-90 minutes in duration

EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the distressing issue and is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories. For many clients, EMDR therapy can be completed in fewer sessions than other therapies. EMDR is a frontline intervention for trauma. For more information, please visit https://youtu.be/Pkfln-ZtWeY
